Happy Monday, welcome back from my crazy last week. (i took a week off to much stuff going on). Last weekend i went to Go Blog Social X Chicago! I had a crazy crazy weekend in Chicago (i almost didn’t make it home). I am just finishing up a huge paper about my trip to Kansas City.  I am going to point out a few key things i learned from our speakers (ps i love the EVERY GIRL speakers!)

  •  Alison Ray of Sassy Moms in The City–  i love here! I met her last year (on my first blogger brunch).  She had a lot of great thing to say. One key point she really discussed was “YOU CREATE YOUR OWN OPPORTUNITIES”. I have always been a firm believer in this. My life motto is you want it you MAKE IT HAPPEN. It was pretty amazing to here it come from someone who has been in the blogging industry to a long time.
  • Farrisa Knox of What R U Wearing – created a stellar presentation called Boss Period. She talked a lot about where she came from. Explained to us how she handles employees, and her business . One thing i took away from her stories is not only to be a #GIRLBOSS but to be a Boss of your own destiny! Also to reach out and do things Outside of your comfort zone.
  • Daniel Moss of The Every Girl–  I loved the Every Girl ( I admitt I’m not an average reader of that website, but i have read it before and enjoyed it) I got to hear the story about How the Every Girl got started. The stories that came along from this little site were amazing. One thing i really took away from this was to just Be “True and Authentic”. I loved hearing about the story how a little website grew and grew!
  • It was really nice to connect with others offline. To visit with old friends or to meet new friends. Its really important to know where ever you are in your journey in blogging or a business is that we have all been there one time or another.

I feel super wonderful to have the chance to be able to travel and meet with others. It helps me to be passionate and remember why i started this in the first place.  I want to thank Go Blog Social and All the Sponsors that worked with us during the event.

have a wonderful Monday.

xx

For me, the magic of Hawaii comes from the stillness, the sea, the stars- Joanne Harris

I’ve been in a vacation mood lately, thinking about somewhere i haven’t been before, well you can guess? HAWAII! I have been watching to many vintage travel films and TV shows (not to mention that Brady Bunch Episode) . I picked up this beautiful Kimono a week ago, and fell in love with the colors and the “Aloha” written on, so i thought id put together a fun vintage Hawaii look!  Enjoy.

Hello, Longtime no see, I know I know. You were probably wondering where I have been hiding? Well life, got kinda crazy but I am back in full swing- reposting  new looks and hopefully some new looks, plus I am working on alot more projects and now have motivation to post more looks, and work harder at this blog because I have been thinking about this blog and what it means to me and I’ve been thinking it’s time to work harder and post more awesome stuff, including inspiration, the blog itself will be getting a make-over soon I promise, a lot of new attitudes for the blog, because it is my project and my outlet to express my sense of fashion, being from the mid west it’s hard to find people here that share my love of fashion and my like of clothing, plus life has been crazy! I hope you can understand my time away from the blog, but it feels great to be back. I hope you are here to stay with me-

To the Future,

Love

Falling For Nude

Hey guys! Welcome to the First Day of Fall, arent you excited? I know i am, i want to post my first official blog as part of the Chicago Blogger Network. I am so excited to be apart of the family! Well today, im going to be discussing how to work with the color nude. Nude is a hard color to work because its so blah, boring sometimes and usually only comes in panti-hoes. Well as you can see i really went super formal, today my cousin got married, in a small lovely ceremony and i really wanted to dress up for occasion. I have been dying to wear this dress, but i was thinking how am i going to make this work for me? I am a bigger girl (but i did loose 65 pounds and counting!) but i really like high line dresses on my body type, but nude is super hard color, so i chose the darker leggings to bring a pop, of tones to my legs, i also chose white necklace to focus on the upper body part so it sets the dress of even more, as well as my hat was darker to bring more of a tonal range of nudes and browns. Its important, to try to remember don’t be afraid to add dark & light in this case with nude, because it has to work together. I added the fur for fun because it was a gift (thanks connie!) and i love it! This weekend, i really am focusing on more styling than anything and giving pieces of advice what works for me, and what can work for you to, just remember nude doesnt always belong with black, you can make it fun by adding other earthy-tones to make any outfit pop, even try NEON! Neon+Nude work amazing together! I hope that you enjoy this little tip on nude pairing. Happy Weekend xx.
