Hi crazy coupon friends, its your crazy friend Alex here. Today i am introducing my couponing into blog. I just traveled to Chicago two weeks ago. Today I’m gonna write about cheap travel for short and or long distances.
For me I was traveling to Chicago because of a blogger conference called Go Blog Social. I am a marketing student and used this as an opportunity to learn about branding and social media implementation.
My method of travel since I am a student had to be the cheapest possible form of travel. I knew the way to go was Mega Bus. Mega Bus I learned about when I was attending Art school. It was a the dollar bus everyone said you can travel on. Ive been traveling and using Mega Bus for a lot of my trips to short places in Iowa, Chicago and Wisconsin. I have never used Mega Bus to travel long distances.
My recent trip was only a total of 47.00. It’s really true on what they say when they say it is a cheap way to travel. I chose to book my trip on a Thursday night. The reason that I chose to do this was because of the fact it was cheaper to do so! All you do is book your reservations and then print out your confirmation reservations. It is that simple.
If you are like me you are really wanting to save money in every way possible , why don’t you book yourself an easy trip with mega bus. The great things about the bus for me in my case it stops in my hometown. I was able to meet my dad for 10 or so minutes. He brought me dinner (which was a lifesaver as i am on a budget).
The second thing that is pretty great as far as cheap travel is Grey Hound. The grey hound isn’t to0 expensive depending on where you are going. I have taken it a few times from Des Moines / Chicago or Des Moines/Davenport Iowa. The one great feature in Des Moines is the Grey Hound terminal is a small terminal. Its easy to get in an out. The bus its self is nice. They also offer free WiFi and make several stops to pick up different people.
If you are traveling long distances these are fairly easy accessible options. The holidays are coming up, so I would suggest that you book early. The reason I chose to write about buses for travel is that the city I live in has no train or no other sort of transportation besides an air port. Relatively I felt that the airport was to expensive, and i was only going a very short distance.
I hope you find these travel options easy & accessible
-Have a great week,
(*All opinions are my own and do not any shape or form reflect mega bus or grey hound*)

Happy Monday, welcome back from my crazy last week. (i took a week off to much stuff going on). Last weekend i went to Go Blog Social X Chicago! I had a crazy crazy weekend in Chicago (i almost didn’t make it home). I am just finishing up a huge paper about my trip to Kansas City. I am going to point out a few key things i learned from our speakers (ps i love the EVERY GIRL speakers!)
- Alison Ray of Sassy Moms in The City– i love here! I met her last year (on my first blogger brunch). She had a lot of great thing to say. One key point she really discussed was “YOU CREATE YOUR OWN OPPORTUNITIES”. I have always been a firm believer in this. My life motto is you want it you MAKE IT HAPPEN. It was pretty amazing to here it come from someone who has been in the blogging industry to a long time.
- Farrisa Knox of What R U Wearing – created a stellar presentation called Boss Period. She talked a lot about where she came from. Explained to us how she handles employees, and her business . One thing i took away from her stories is not only to be a #GIRLBOSS but to be a Boss of your own destiny! Also to reach out and do things Outside of your comfort zone.
- Daniel Moss of The Every Girl– I loved the Every Girl ( I admitt I’m not an average reader of that website, but i have read it before and enjoyed it) I got to hear the story about How the Every Girl got started. The stories that came along from this little site were amazing. One thing i really took away from this was to just Be “True and Authentic”. I loved hearing about the story how a little website grew and grew!
- It was really nice to connect with others offline. To visit with old friends or to meet new friends. Its really important to know where ever you are in your journey in blogging or a business is that we have all been there one time or another.
I feel super wonderful to have the chance to be able to travel and meet with others. It helps me to be passionate and remember why i started this in the first place. I want to thank Go Blog Social and All the Sponsors that worked with us during the event.
have a wonderful Monday.
This weekend is a very busy one for me. Today i depart for Kansas City. I am on a trip with my Marketing Group, exploring different professionals in the workplace. I have picked out a few of my cant live without travel essentials. Literally every item on this list i have. I however i am obsessed with the Customized Timbuk 2 bag. I have loved Timbuk 2 since my art school days. Im pretty excited to tour their new store in Chicago this weekend. Where is a place you’d like to travel? Let me know in the comments! Ocotober is breast cancer awareness month. This year i will be running Race for the Cure . I picked out a few of my favorite pink things right now. I am sorta of obsessed with the Pink Carousel collection from Zelie for She. The best part of the collection is that a portion funds breast cancer research. I also am obsessed with lipsticks. I love the Ka’oir line! The best part about this lipstick its called “survivor”. The proceeds go to fund the Susan G Komen Foundation. I also put in a few more little things, my favorite bow pumps at the moment! The bag is also from Brighton, its a “breast cancer” awareness bag! I hope you have a great weekend. Remember Breast Cancer is important. Schedule your mammograms today. Keep fighting.
*this post is dedicated to Annette Franklin, who i have the honor of running for. Keep fighting the good fight neighbor. Love you.

The one thing about fall, that it seems I am more comfortable in clothing. I found these amazing track pants from old navy. The sporty chic is an amazing trend. Currently one of my dream places to shop is Bloomingdales. Every year they offer 20% during their friends and family sale. I went ahead and picked out my favorites. What’s really great about Bloomingdales is that they provide a wide variety of designers and styles. Bloomingdales is pretty amazing, they even offer stylish plus size clothing. I of course had to pick everything leather (since leather is my current obsession). I have two different categories here, clothes and shoes and accessories. I hope you shop the sale, and have a great Wednesday.
